Discrimination Complaints
The office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX at Texas State University is responsible for overseeing and enforcing the university’s equal opportunity policies and for investigating complaints of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
Texas State prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, veterans’ status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Additionally, Texas State prohibits retaliation against a person who files a harassment or discrimination complaint, or who assists or participates in the investigation of a report.
Employee and Supervisor Responsibilities
Employees of the university are required to comply with policies that prohibit discrimination and retaliation. Administrators and supervisors who, in good faith, become aware of or suspect violations of the discrimination, harassment or retaliation policies are responsible for reporting them immediately to their supervisors and to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX.
Where to Report Discrimination: Students
Students who believe that they have experienced discrimination or retaliation by faculty, staff or contractors should report their concerns to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX.
Where to Report Discrimination: Faculty, Staff, and Guests
Faculty, staff and guests of the university may report suspected violations of the university’s discrimination and harassment policies — including sexual harassment and retaliation by faculty, staff, contractors and students — to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX.
How to Make a Report
A report of suspected discrimination or retaliation may be made in person in the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX (Elliot Hall A, 3rd floor), or by filling out & submitting the form linked below. This link will redirect you to a secure Maxient portal. All reports will be reviewed to determine whether an investigation is warranted.
